Arcadia Upgrades Best Buy Theater to HD

After the name change of the theater, Best Buy wanted to make sure the venue was upgraded with brand new 1080p High Definition displays. Arcadia replaced all displays throughout the venue and rebuilt the entire video distribution system to accommodate full HD resolution across all outputs of our new system. The highlights include a Sierra Video Systems 16x16 Wideband Matrix, 1080p HD Video over Cat-5 to all displays, BrightSign solid state digital signage controllers, and integration with all existing video gear.

Nokia Theatre is now Best Buy Theater

After five years, the neon letters that spelled out ‘Nokia Theatre’ on top of the marquee were lowered to the sidewalk in Times Square. In September, the theater’s name was changed to the Best Buy Theater. AEG Live still owns and operates the venue as it had since it opened in 2005, but a new multi-year sponsorship deal with Best Buy has ushered in the name change.

Arcadia’s responsibilities as the house A/V vendor for the theater will continue. Arcadia operates a three camera robotic IMAG system during shows and events, photographs the artists for archival purposes, manages the LED marquee on the façade of the building and produces content for all displays inside and outside the venue.
