Arcadia Debuts Photo Display Software Solution

As part of the massive Times Square press event to launch the Casio Tryx camera, NCompass International contracted Arcadia to develop a solution to display photos taken from a digital camera onto TVs around the Best Buy Theater.

Working with our software development partners, and drawing on years of experience operating similar systems, we developed a simple and straightforward system to get photos from virtually any camera to any video display. Our full HD photo-to-screen application allows for moderation, review and approval prior to a photo being displayed. We debuted our proprietary system during the event to showcase the Casio Tryx.

Utilizing Eye Fi SD cards, we essentially turned each camera into an uploading machine, sending photos directly from the cameras to our cloud server, where the photo-to-screen app processes each photo for review and display. This system works anywhere there is WiFi or 3G data coverage from a wireless provider.

The photos can be displayed full-screen or framed out by a completely customizable background image. For Casio we made the photos appear as if they were on the LCD viewfinder on the back of the camera and included the Casio Tryx and Best Buy logos around it.

Even more exciting (for us, as integrators) is that this all runs off a laptop and requires no special installation. So, we can literally be up and running in minutes!
